Obrynba Nikolai Ippolitovich


Born in Epifan, Tula pr., 1913.
Studied at Kiev Arts and Crafts College 1928-31; Institute of Paintings, Sculpture and Architecture 1932-33; Kiev Art Institute 1936-40; Moscow Art Institute 1940-41.
Active in Poltava, Ukraine, 1931-32; Leningrad 1932; Kharkov, Ukraine 1933-36; Moscow postwar. Began exhibiting 1931.
Member of AKhChU 1931-32; Grekov Studio 1944-50.
Important shows include "Soviet Russia" Moscow 1960.
Specialized in genre paintings of military-patriotic subjects.
Died in Moscow.


AKhChU- Association of Artists of Red Ukraine. Formed in Kiev in 1923.
Grekov Studio- An art attached to the Red Army. Created in 1934.
